Coming on stage with his acoustic guitar and cheeky smile the affable Jai Waetford seems to win over fans without singing a single bar or plucking a string. As he announces he’s singing Jes Hudak’s Different Worlds – a difficult song to master by anyone’s standards – the tension in the arena couldn’t be higher.
That tension was soon shattered though as an astonished audience erupted into rapturous applause, to the unbelievable scene that was unfolding in front of them. Praise from the judges too couldn’t be higher receiving a standing ovation for his rendition, however it’s his self-composed song ‘Don’t Let Me Go’, sang at Ronan’s request that really blows everyone away – just see for yourself!
So could a 14 year old really win the X-Factor? Ronan, Redfoo and Danni certainly seem to think so and whatever happens, one thing is certainly clear, Jai Waetford has a very bright future ahead of him.
