Just Released: Pentatonix’s Brand New Song For Christmas Has Everyone In Love

With Christmas just a few days away, it’s easier than ever to lose sight of what’s truly important this time of year. It’s not about the gifts. Nor is it the about the food. The true meaning of Christmas is all about love, God and family.

Fortunately, the talented members of Pentatonix are here to remind us of the real meaning of the holiday with a breathtaking rendition of “Where Are You, Christmas.” We had goosebumps from start to finish!

The past year has been full of twists and turns for the group. Kevin Olusola, one of the talented members told The Morning Call that Avi Kaplan’s departure from Pentatonix was shocking at first, but made sense when they thought a little more about his reasoning.

Kevin said:

“Well, first of all, being on the road for as long as we have – and we’ve been on the road every single year, we’ve put out one or two albums every single year. So the pace of our lives is really crazy – and especially because we knew we’re somewhat of a novelty group in the pop industry, we knew we had to work that much harder.

And it can take a toll on people. It really, really does. And Avi is very, very close to his family and he want to be there for them. And he also has music that he’s always wanted to do, of his own. I just think it was time for him to step out on his own and do his own thing, and live life on his own terms so that he can kind of be able to take care of himself a lot more. And just lead his own life.

And we’re really proud of him for that, ’cause that’s a very difficult decision, especially with all the success that we’ve had. I’m very, very happy that he’s taking the time to do that.”

Spending so much time away from loved ones could push anyone to their breaking point! Fortunately, they found an excellent replacement for Avi. They brought on a new bassist named Matt Sallee last October and his sound meshed with theirs perfectly. Kevin told Billboard that he couldn’t have asked for a better groupmate!

“It’s been amazing. He is such a bundle of joy and life, and he’s already like my little brother. The thing I love the most is that the fans love him. They embraced him the minute we announced it. That’s super important to us, because we wanted someone that fans would say, ‘Wow, we love this guy, he’s so humble and so kind.’

From the first couple moments we had with him, fans were already drawing fan pictures of him and making art of him. That’s also how we knew he was special.”

Now, with Matt belting his heart out along with Kevin, Scott Hoying, Kirstin Maldonado and Mitch Grassi, fans have even more musical magic to look forward to. One such surprise was this rendition of “Where Are You, Christmas” from the hit holiday movie How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

They didn’t need any fancy backdrop for their video – they only needed the holiday spirit in their hearts and the air in their lungs! Their performance “came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags.” And it was more than perfect!

Listen to their rendition of “Where Are You, Christmas” in the video below. Matt’s voice fits flawlessly!
