I’m a big fan of backyard cookouts and parties. When I heard about the new “pub sheds” trend, I knew it would be something I’d want in on.
People all over the world are taking their old, run-down sheds and transforming them into spectacular bar areas that are perfect for hosting backyard parties.
Thanks to websites like Readersheds.co.uk, which hosts “Shed of the Year” contests, we’re now starting to see this popular backyard craze spreading here in the U.S as well.
What do you think? Would you like to have one of these in YOUR backyard? Let us know in the comment section below or on facebook, and please SHARE!
People who convert their sheds into pubs have figured out how to make them functional year-round. A space heater or small woodstove allows them to enjoy their creations even during winter.
If you don’t need the storage, you may as well put the space to good use. Myself, I’d much rather keep a party-pub in my shed than a bunch of old tools.
It also eliminates the dangers of drinking and driving.
The sky’s the limit when it comes to designing. The owner of this shed actually inserted heated floors in his pub shed.
Followers of this trend call themselves “Sheddies” and like naming their pubs. This one’s called “The Jack and Anchor.”
Many of the pubs have themes. The Jack and Anchor, not surprising, has a nautical theme.
Whatever your interests are, you can tailor your own pub to fit them.
You can turn your shed into a man cave, a poker palace, or a club house.
One of the more popular themes is the tiki hut. How relaxing it would be to come home after a hard day at work, to enjoy piña coladas in your own private tiki hut.
Some folks build a shed almost as elaborate is a house. I’d dare say some people spend as much on their sheds as they do on their homes they live in.
Even people who don’t even own a shed are building them just to get in on this trend.
If you’re not a drinker, you can always convert your shed into a great barbecue shack.
You could also use it as a private party space.
If you have kids, you could even turn the shed into a backyard ice cream parlor or candy store!
It’s a great way of expanding your home without having to do too much cost with construction. If a bar isn’t your type of thing, you could always turn it into a playroom or office.
I’m sure we’ll be seeing these in more and more backyards over the next few years.
