There is a new fear this Halloween and it isn’t razor blades in candy. Police departments are now warning the public that ecstasy pills are going around that resemble tiny pieces of candy.
The pills have images of superheroes or other characters on them and come in various shapes, which makes checking your children’s halloween candy even more important this year!
I was taught one simple rule for Halloween, not to eat any candy that isn’t factory-sealed, wrapped and undamaged. You never can tell what could be inside that homemade marshmallow and puffed rice treat or everyone’s least favorite treat, the candy apple.
If your kids bring home small pieces of unwrapped, chalky candy, it could very well be drugs. One has to wonder why ANYONE would want to give away their drugs to random children on the street, but it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
“If your kids get these for Halloween candy, they ARE NOT CANDY!!! They are the new shapes of ‘Ecstasy’ and can kill kids through overdoses!!!” loudly proclaimed the Jackson Police Department Facebook page, ensuring that everyone in town (or at least their 2,802 current Facebook followers) heard the warning.
