This is a Breviceps macrops, or as he’s commonly known, the desert rain frog. He almost resembles a frog that was blown up with a tire pump, and this one’s got a lot on his mind. The desert rain frog is found in Namibia and South Africa. Even more bizarre than its shape is it’s underbelly, which is transparent, and its organs can be seen from the outside.
His tiny squeak may not sound very ferocious, but it’s actually a war cry. He almost sounds like a dog’s squeaky toy!
