They Were Riding Bikes When They Saw A Mysterious Box. The Contents Changed Their Lives Forever.

Bret Winingar and his son Zach were out riding their bikes in Little Rock, Arkansas. While motorcycling through the countryside, they stumbled upon something out of the ordinary. They both stopped, got off their motorcycles and went to take a closer look. Here is what they found…

THE MEN SAW AN ANIMAL CARRIER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD THAT LOOKED LIKE IT HAD BEEN THERE FOR QUITE SOME TIME.

The men spotted an animal carrier off to the side of the road and it looked like it had been there for quite some time.

UPON LOOKING CLOSER, THEY SAW THE TOP OF THE CARRIER HAD BEEN CHEWED. WHATEVER WAS INSIDE HAD DESPERATELY BEEN TRYING TO GET OUT.

When they got closer, they noticed the top of the carrier had been chewed. Something inside was desperately trying to get out.

THEY UNLOCKED THE CARRIER AND WERE SHOCKED TO FIND THAT AN EMACIATED DOG WAS CONTAINED INSIDE. THE INSIDE OF THE CRATE WAS COVERED IN ITS WASTE. ONCE THEY FINALLY COAXED HER OUT, SHE WAS HUNCHED OVER FROM BEING STUCK INSIDE THAT SMALL SPACE FOR SUCH A LONG PERIOD OF TIME.

They quickly unlocked the carrier and were shocked to find that an emaciated dog was caged inside. The inside of the crate was covered in waste. Once they finally lured her out, she was hunched over from being stuck inside a small space for so long.

THEY BROUGHT HER SOME DOG FOOD, AND SHE WOOFED IT RIGHT DOWN.

The men brought her some dog food, and she excitedly woofed it down.

THE MEN BRIEFLY LEFT TO GO GET THEIR TRUCK SO THAT THEY COULD TAKE HER AWAY FROM THIS HEARTBREAKING SCENE.

The men briefly left her and came back with a truck to tote her away from this sad scene.

AS SOON AS THE DOG WAS INSIDE THE CAR, SHE WAS INSTANTLY GRATEFUL.

Yet, as soon as she got inside the car, she showed her gratitude.

ONCE SHE GOT BACK TO THE WININGARS’S HOUSE, EVERYONE WENT INTO REHAB MODE FOR HER. FIRST, THEY GAVE HER A BATH.

Once she got back to the Winingars’s home, everyone went into full-on love mode. First, they gave the dog a bath.

THEN THEY GAVE HER THE NAME CHARLIE BRAVO, OR CB FOR SHORT.

Then she got the new name Charlie Bravo, or CB for short.

CB’S NEXT STOP WAS A VISIT TO THE LOCAL VETERINARIAN. HER NAILS THAT WERE SO LONG THEY HAD GROWN BACKWARDS INTO HER PAW PADS. BECAUSE OF THIS SHE HAD A HARD TIME WALKING DUE TO THE PAIN.

CB’s next stop was a visit to the vet. She had nails that were so long they had grown backwards into her paws. She was having a hard time walking and everyone was concerned.

AS VETS WORKED ON THE WOUNDS THAT HAD DEVELOPED FROM BEING CONFINED TO THE CARRIER FOR SO LONG, THEY ESTIMATED SHE WAS ABOUT EIGHT MONTHS OLD WHEN SHE WAS FOUND. NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW EXACTLY HOW LONG SHE HAD BEEN TRAPPED IN THE CRATE.

As vets dressed the sores that had developed from being confined for so long, they estimated that CB was about eight months old when she was found. But no one knows exactly how long she was trapped in that box.

BRET THINKS THAT IT HAD TO BE A LONG TIME CONSIDERING THAT CB’S PAWS, WHICH ARE ACTUALLY WHITE, WERE STAINED DARK FROM THE FILTH SHE HAD BEEN LYING IN.

Bret thinks that it was a considerable amount of time considering that CB’s paws, which are actually white, were stained dark from all the filth she had been lying in.

BRET HADN’T ORIGINALLY PLANNED ON KEEPING CB, BUT AFTER NURSING HER BACK TO HEALTH, HE COULDN’T IMAGINE PARTING WITH HER.

Bret wasn’t initially planning on keeping CB, but after nursing her back to health, he couldn’t part with her.

CAN YOU BLAME HIM?

Can you blame him?

CB IS NOW SAFE IN A FOREVER HOME, FULL OF PEOPLE WHO ADORE HER.

CB is now safe in a loving home.

WHEN CB’S STORY SURFACED VIA A FACEBOOK PAGE, THE FAMILY RECEIVED DONATIONS TO HELP PAY FOR HER MEDICAL BILLS.

When CB’s story hit the internet via a Facebook page, the family received donations that helped pay for her medical bills.

THE DONATIONS EXCEEDED THE ACTUAL COSTS OF HER VET BILLS, SO THE WININGARS WILL DONATE THE LEFTOVER FUNDS TO THEIR LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTERS.

The donations exceeded the costs of CB's vet bills, so the Winingars plan on donating the leftover funds to local animal shelters.

THE FAMILY CURRENTLY HAS FOUR RESCUE DOGS LIVING UNDER THEIR ROOF, SO THEY ARE ALSO THINKING ABOUT SETTING UP THEIR OWN FOUNDATION FOR RESCUE ANIMALS.

Being that the family currently has four rescue dogs living under their roof, they are also thinking about setting up their own foundation for rescue animals.

THEY WOULD CALL IT “CHARLIE’S ANGELS.”

It would be named “Charlie’s Angels.”
