Scotty McCreery And Friends Team Up To Sing 'Angels Among Us', The Result Has Everyone Saying 'Amen'

When times are tough, a kind word, hug and a prayer are much appreciated shows of support for those facing adversity. One particular song penned in 1993 for the legendary country music band Alabama ended up prompting hundreds of people from around the world to send letters to the band members thanking them for recording this song, stating that it was a blessing to them during their own personal difficulties.

In fact, the song was performed by band member Randy Owen at the funeral of famous race car driver and his good buddy Dale Earnhardt, Sr. This beloved song entitled “Angels Among Us” was released on Alabama’s Cheap Seats album as a Christmas single.

The award-winning song features touching lyrics like “Oh, I believe there are angels among us, sent down to us from somewhere up above.” The song highlights troubled times weighting someone down, and that there had always been someone “to come along and comfort me.”

“A kind word from a stranger, to lend a helping hand, a phone call from a friend just to say ‘I understand.'”

Radio Disney and Radio Disney Country teamed up with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to re-record this heartwarming country Christmas classic. It featured hot and trending artists like Carly Pearce, Hunter Hayes, Brennley Brown, CB30, Jillian Jacqueline, Lucy Hale, RaeLynn, Sara Evans, Scotty McCreery, Tegan Marie, and Temecula Road.

The goal behind this collaboration was to raise awareness of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s mission and to help generate funding. The leading children’s hospital focuses on researching and treating childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

The recording session also helped Radio Disney and Radio Disney Country generate $25,000 to donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The stars treated special guests with a visit to the studio while recording.

A few patients from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital even had the opportunity to fiddle with the sound panel, watch the artists record the moving song and try out the headphones and microphone for themselves. The smiles that spread across their faces for being a part of this beautiful musical event is simply heartening.
