More than 41 years have passed since Elvis Presley passed away from this world. Unfortunately for his daughter, Lisa Marie, it feels like yesterday. That’s why she turned to the microphone during a recent rough patch in her life and prayed for her father’s guidance. Thankfully, he was there for her through his music. Now she’s releasing an emotional duet with her late father with his hit gospel song, “Where No One Stands Alone.”
During an interview on the British talk show “Lorraine,” Lisa Marie admitted she still asks her father for help more than four decades after his passing. After a recent struggle with addiction, the mother of four needed a helping hand and looked up to her father in Heaven for assistance, “I wouldn’t say I talk to him. I just remember everything. I can sort of pull out of the files whatever memories I have and stuff like that. And occasionally ask for help. Which was the case with this record. I just felt like a hand came down to me, it felt like that a little bit.” This track was a way for her to feel closer to her father during a time in her life when she needed their relationship the most.
With the help of her late father, Lisa Marie was able to perform a duet that will go in Graceland history. Their voices blend together in such a beautiful way – it’s clear to see the apple didn’t fall far from the tree!
