Almost a decade after Bob Headings tragically fell off a ladder and became paralyzed, his three sons and eight grandsons took him on atrip to the Grand Canyon he’ll never forget.
The family hiked the South Kaibab and Bright Angel trails proving that anything is possible when you work together as a family unit.
“It’s basically another step showing people that they can do anything with even the greatest obstacles,” said Heading’s grandson, Jase.
Despite the rocky, steep terrain, the Headings family hiked the trails of the Grand Canyon pulling Bob’s wheelchair every step of the way. Rather than complaining, they felt they owed it to the patriarch of the family.
In the words of oldest son Randy, “It just seemed like a way for us as a family to give back to Dad.”
Other hikers on the trails were stunned, including one who said, “It’s probably about my 100th trip into the canyon and it’s the first time I’ve ever seen anything like that.”
The moment they complete the hike at the endn of the video is so heartwarming, a true testament of family.
