The world knows Andrea Bocelli for his incredible opera voice and heartbreaking background – but many aren’t aware of his devotion as a father to his three wonderful children. For more than 20 years, he’s been an unwavering force of support for his kids and made sure they didn’t hurt for anything.
So when his middle child, Matteo, wanted to follow his father’s career and get into music, Andrea was thrilled. He couldn’t have been more excited to show Matteo the ropes and introduce him to all the important industry businesspeople.
Sure enough, Matteo was a smashing success and fan groups started to form all over the globe. It was clear that everyone wanted to hear more from the Bocelli family. That’s why Andrea and Matteo recently teamed up for a duet to “Fall On Me.” The result is absolutely beautiful…
With grainy black-and-white family photos playing in the background and the Bocelli men still at their pianos, they began to sing “Fall On Me” and carefully stroke the piano keys. They exchanged notes just as easily as you and I would exchange a handshake.
The Bocelli men’s booming-yet-controlled voices filled the room, reverberating off the metallic warehouse walls. Years of training with Dad prepared Matteo for such a feat – and the practice showed.
Not only were their voices incredible blended together, but their simple setting was a perfect choice. With the well-lit, sparsely decorated set, the men proved they didn’t need a fancy backdrop or cinematography tricks. All they needed was a set of pianos and each other!
Matteo smiled over his father as they played in unison intensely. Every note, whether thundering from the ivory keys or pouring from their lips, was flawless. There’s a reason why Celine Dion used to introduce Andrea by saying, “If God could sing, He would sound a lot like Andrea Bocelli.”
And it’s clear the apple didn’t fall far from the tree when it came to Matteo!
We thank you, Andrea and Matteo, for sharing a little glimpse into your beautiful relationship. Hopefully, these talented men release more collaborative pieces of music in the future – we know it’ll be just as remarkable!
